Kim joined the Precept team as Head of HR Services after knowing and working alongside Rob and the Precept team for the last four years.
Kim moved to Derby back in 2007 to study Human Resource Management at the University of Derby and has never looked back! She achieved a BA (Hons) degree in 2010 and then worked her way up through various HR roles since successfully securing a role as HR Administrator back in 2012 after spending some time gaining business experience within a Recruitment Agency. She then quickly moved up the ranks within different organisations, becoming an HR Manager in April 2021 and then Head of HR in January 2023. She went back to the University of Derby in September 2019 to study part time for a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management while working full time (yes, she is bonkers!) and achieved a CIPD Level 7. Then in June 2023, she passed the assessment to become a Chartered Member of the CIPD.
Before joining Precept, Kim worked in HR for four Derbyshire based companies in industries ranging from food to tableware to medical devices! She has worked in small Companies who had never had internal HR before right up to large international Companies. This means that she has experience in setting up HR from scratch, which includes implementing HR systems, absence management systems, setting and recording KPI’s and budgets, managing a team, creating processes and writing policies and then training managers to implement the people elements of their role to make them feel empowered.
Kim is a pure HR Generalist and loves a good system and process. She has worked hard over the last 12 years to ensure she provides a good balance of support for employees as well as ensure there is as little risk to the business as possible from an HR point of view.
In her spare time Kim can be found spending time with her partner, his three boys, and Nancy the cat, learning how to fix the next problem on her classic MG F, or getting out for a run as long as it’s not raining! More often than not, Kim will be found stood in the pit lane of an RC track making sure the drivers of the RC cars don’t run out of fuel or cut out; who knew racing remote controlled cars could be so competitive!?
