Alex is an Associate in the team.  

Alex has a background in HR before she came to the law (the dark side!).  Before qualifying as a solicitor, after university, Alex worked in the HR function for a large insurance company, securing all those hard to teach HR skills.  Then discovering the law, Alex went through her qualification journey (which we all know is loooong) before eventually then qualifying into employment law.

Upon qualification, Alex then worked with both employees and employers on a variety of different issues from settlement agreements, litigation, to the day-to-day advice on internal procedures – disciplinaries, grievances etc etc. Having experience from both the employee and employer side means that she has firsthand experience of how to effectively manage individuals during difficult times and has been on both sides of the fence when advising and litigating for clients.

The background in HR has allowed Alex to have a commercial and pragmatic view, as well as understanding the needs of the key stakeholders within a business. It is this side of employment law which interests her most as she enjoys feeling part of a client’s business, building partnerships and following processes through to completion.

In her (hard to come by!) spare time, when not looking after her two cats, Harry and Ron, or running around after her three stepsons and husband, Alex enjoys walking, the gym, holidays (who doesn’t ?!) and spending time with friends and family.
