Mark has worked in the legal sector since 2011 when he joined Rob and Emma at Flint Bishop before moving to Knights. Prior to that, he worked in the property sector since leaving the regular Army with posts with the Halifax, a top independent, Prospects and then moving from the south to Nottingham as Head of New Homes with Savills prior to the credit crunch in 2007/8.

Mark has now returned to join Rob and Emma and the team at Precept as Head of Client Services.

This role is vital to Precept because it is all about our lovely clients – and you all know how important to us you are!  Mark’s role will be to make sure our clients have all the support you need, are kept informed about training and sent updates on changes to employment law. In short, making sure our clients are getting every little thing they need, exactly when they need it!

The second role is to help us grow the business. We want to help more clients from more sectors in more locations. The key is to ensure that with growth, the team doesn’t’ loose touch with the business values (find them here), and that the same level of service and support is given to every client – all these things are absolutely key to us and we know Mark will help us achieve that sustainable growth.

Mark believes in keeping ‘stuff’ simple and not over complicating things (which is why he fits in so well!)  He enjoys meeting businesses and getting to understand their plans, strategy and what they want from legal and HR support. He likes to listen and understand issues and matters, ensure the process for clients is made simple and that the team delivers what clients ask for!

Outside of work, Mark has two girls, a wife and the dog (Fozzie). But, he also has another commitment – he is Commandant (Colonel) of Derbyshire Army Cadet Force (ACF). Mark has been in the military in some form for over 22 years. The ACF is the UKs largest youth organisation, and is led by the MoD/Army. The team he leads there comprises some 170 other volunteers and staff and over 900 Cadets.  As we can see, this is a real passion for Mark!
