Emma has been qualified for over 10 years and has specialised in employment law for the duration of that time.  Emma flew through the ranks, quickly becoming a Partner at 5 years qualified.  Emma joined the Precept Team from National law firm Geldards LLP, where she led their Midlands Employment Team.  Emma and Rob have worked together for many years prior to Emma’s Geldard’s days, and their complementary skills make for a very well-rounded approach.

Emma has a knack for getting to grips with complex legal issues extremely quickly and communicating them with clients in her trademark “no-nonsense” way.  A strong believer in plain talking, Emma has a pragmatic approach when delivering her advice.  She will tell you her “gut” feeling in any situation, rather than sitting on the fence.  Emma believes that it is her job to help you and your business get to where you want to be, not put more roadblocks in the way. 

This has led to Emma having a dedicated client following, from PLCs to one-man bands and everything in between, many of whom she has developed a partnership with and has worked with for many years.  This is evidenced by her being recognised repeatedly in the Legal 500 for being “popular with clients”. 

Most recently Emma was recognised in the 2022 Legal 500, with numerous client quotes referencing her approach to the advice she gives.  This one sums it up perfectly:

Emma’s absolute specialism is Employment Tribunal litigation, and so she deals with all the litigation at Precept.  She has been commended by a Regional Employment Judge as being a “competent and sensible litigator” but most importantly she gets the right results for her clients.

If you know anything about Emma, you will know that outside of work it’s all about horses.  She regularly competes her horse Bentley in dressage and jumping, to a national level.  The other babies in her life are her 2 girls, who of course also have a pony(!)
